Velcro Open

Two strips of Velcro One Wrap are sewn to the chinstrap, then the ends are brought around the hoses to secure. One free loop of Velcro One Wrap is wrapped around the two hoses at the crown, increasing the stability.

One length of Velcro One Wrap is wrapped around the hoses right at the crown. This increases tension and stability, and helps route the hoses to the main hose. This Velcro is not sewn, just wrapped.

The head is smaller than MY head. When I wear this, the Velcro side loops are positioned farther down my head.

Note the white back strap on the Deluxe Chinstrap - this is critical. The front strap is not necessary. The back strap makes this entirely stable and comfortable to wear.

When I wear this, the cannula pulls the tip of my nose up ever so slightly - just so it's secure, but not uncomfortable. Cannula does not rest on my upper lip at all. I twist the cannula to angle the vents where I want them. Chinstrap does not fully contact my face at all points - it just secures the mask and reminds me to keep my jaw shut.

NAII attached to CPAP.com Deluxe Chinstrap with Velcro One Wrap, and Fleece Snugglies on Hoses. The fleece snugglies are just two sewn tubes of fleece, with no hem or end attachment. Make them about an inch longer than the side hoses, and they will stay on just fine. They grab onto the Velcro One Wrap attachment points and really secure the mask well. They also reduce rainout, and increase the comfort of sleeping on the hoses.

This was my first Chinstrap/NAII mod. I eventually went to just the upper Velcro one wrap, and didn't need the lower one. Both are just loops put around the inside of the Topaz, not sewn to the chinstrap.

Note the Velcro One Wrap that ties the hoses together at the crown. This increases tension and stability, and helps the hoses neatly route to the main hose. I don't need to use any hanger for my main hose - I just run the hose over my pillow, along the crack between the mattress and the headboard, and off the bed to the XPAP.

This is how the mask looks once all the straps are closed. I leave them closed at all times, and just pull the mask on and off without having to readjust the Chinstrap or the Velcro loops securing the mask.
